The MIT Grading System
MIT grading functions on a 5 point scale.
All MSRED students are required to obtain at least a 4.0 out of 5.0 (B average) scale for all coursework.
Students who do not maintain their academic standing may be subject to academic probation and can expect to receive an academic warning from the CRE. On-going acadmic issues may result in a letter from the Office of the Vice Chancellor's office.
Though grades are given with plus/minus designations (B-, B, B+), these designations do not appear on an official transcript.
Graduate Students may select one subject per semester to designate as P/D/F
BUT cannot do so for MSRED CORE or MSRED REQUIRED ELECTIVESCourse that are listed as P/D/F cannot be taken for a letter grade.
