These events are offered by MIT and/or the GSC and while not required, you may wish to participate in some of these events in addition to the MSRED Orientation events. 
You may find more information about the GSC events and sign up for their Bulletins (though you should be automatically enrolled).

MONDAY 8/26

• 11:00 am-12:00 pm/Overview: Orientation + Registration/Mary Hughes, Graduate Administrator

• 12:00-1:00 pm/Lunch/CRE Student Lounge

• 1:00-1:30 pm/Rotch Library Tour (7-238)/Nick Albaugh, Management and Social Sciences Librarian

• 2:00-2:30 pm/IDHR Presentation/Amanda Wynn, Education Specialist

• 2:30-3:00 pm/Break

• 3:00-4:30 pm/MSRED Curriculum Showcase/MSRED Faculty

• 4:30-5:30 pm/Break

TUESDAY 8/27

• 8:00 am-12:00 pm/EET Testing (10-250)

  • All international students for whom English is not their first language are required to take this test.

  • We have not scheduled any orientation activities during this period to accomodate this requirement

  • This time block is open for any studnet who is not taking the test

• 12:00-1:00 pm/Lunch Break/Free Period

• 1:00-2:15 pm/Industry Partnerships + Career Development/Kairos Shen,Kelly Cameron, James Scott

• 2:15-2:30 pm/Break

• 2:30-4:00 pm/Research, Labs, + Affiliated Programs/CRE Researchers

• 4:00-4:30 pm/Break

• 4:30-5:30 pm/Alumni Association/Center for Real Estate/Chris Whittier (MSRED 2018)
  
  

WEDNESDAY, 8/28

• 8:00 am-9:00 am/Coffee/Breakfast/ 9-310

• 9:00-11:00 am/ Financial Workshop Part 1/Tod McGrath, Lecturer, CRE/Jason Foster, MSRED alumnus

• 12:00 pm/Head to MIT Sailing Pavilion at 134 Memorial Drive (about a 10-15 minute walk from the CRE)

• 12:30-3:30 pm

  • Charles River Boat Cruise through Charles RIver and Boston Harbor

  • Lunch will be served on the boat and we will be back on the dock no later than 3:30 pm

• The remainder of the day is open
  
  

THURSDAY, 8/29

• 9:00 am-12:15 pm/Office of Graduate Education Orientation at Kresge Auditorium/Required of all graduate students.

• 1:00-3:00 pm/ Information Technology Orientation/ Casey Eyring, Information Systems Manager

• 3:00-3:15/Break

• 3:15-5:00 pm/Financial Workshop Part 2/Tod McGrath, Lecturer, CRE/Jason Foster, MSRED alumnus

• 10:00-11:00 am/ Virtual Dual Degree Information Session  (Optional)/Mary Hughes, CRE + Kateri Bertin, Architecture

• 2:30-4:30 pm/Association of Student Actvities Midway (MIT EVENT)

  • Learn about hundreds of MIT’s student organizations with a wide variety of activities and interests including cultural and religious groups. ASA is a joint committee of the MIT Graduate Student Council (GSC) and the MIT Undergraduate Association (UA).

MONDAY, 9/2 Holiday

• No Class/Offies Closed 

TUESDAY, 9/3

• ALL DAY/Registration Day

• All students are required to meet with their Academic Advisor to have their fall registration approved.

• 12:00-2:00 pm Graduate Resource Fair/Johnson Ice Rink
