Fellow Programs are aid awards of a substantial financial amount and include a tuition award and a monthly stipend, as well as a 10 hour/week work requirement. Students that are participating in Fellow Programs may indicate their Fellow status on their business cards, if they wish. Fellowships are less substantial aid awards of tuition assistance only. Fellowships are at the discretion of the funding source and are not necessarily offered on an annual basis. The MSRED program makes every effort to pursue Fellowships and Awards for which our students are eligible and is often called upon to make recommendations for such awards by MIT's Office of Graduate Education (OGE).
Fellow Programs and Fellowships awarded in recent years include: Cultivating Leadership in Real Estate Prologis Fellow Program, William Wheaton Fellow Program, Gerald Blakely Fellow Program, Director's Fellow Program, Endowed Fellowship of the Arab Republic of Egypt (OGE), the Blake Eagle Fellowship, Thomas J Gearghty Fellowship, Theodore S Bacon Fellowship, Data Analyst Student Fellowship, and the Mark J. Waltch Fellowship.
Throughout the academic year, the Center is made aware of fellowship, scholarship, and grant opportunities both within and outside of MIT. These opportunities are passed along to students as appropriate. OGE Awards will begin accepting applications again in February and may be a good avenue for those students considering the fall option that may need to seek funding support for their second fall semester.
